Yes, hygiene is important. When I take a shower I pull the foreskin back and wash the head and surrounding area. It will tend to have a slight odor as the day progresses. If I am "out and about" I make sure I shower before going out. Ever since I was young, hygiene was stressed as uncut can develop serious medical issues if not cleaned properly and regularly. I been with several females who "turn up their noses" because I am uncut. I never been "refused" by a male.
FWIW, tight foreskin I would be concerned about hygiene.
